About the position

AccelPay is looking for a Business Development Representative to focus on creating opportunities for our sales team to sell our e-commerce and fulfillment solution to small, mid-market, and enterprise beverage alcohol brands. Candidate must be comfortable with researching, self-sourcing leads, cold outreach, and securing meetings for account executives. The ideal candidate will be versed in the alcohol industry having worked with alcohol producers and retailers in the US. Someone in this role will be an early hire and integral member in a fast-growing e-commerce business and have many opportunities to grow within and out of AccelPay.

Main responsibilities

As a Business Development Representative your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching and prospecting leads
  • Maintaining and organizing prospective customer data in a CRM
  • Conducting outreach to prospective alcohol brands
  • Optimizing and implementing outreach strategies
  • Qualifying and scoring prospects
  • Securing meetings for account executives
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings regarding customer outreach, onboarding, and communications strategy
  • Work with company leadership to optimize sales plan and outreach to alcohol producers, agencies, retailers, and distributors


  • >1 year of experience in a business and sales development role
  • Very good communications skills
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to a constantly-changing startup environment
  • The ability to self-start, problem solve, and contribute new ideas
  • Familiarity with the alcohol industry (producers, distributors, retailers)
  • Familiarity with e-commerce best practices, terms, and concepts
  • Experience using a CRM
  • Ability to manage high-volume of communication
  • Strategic thinking that goes beyond just making calls and answering emails
  • Someone who can understand a customer's needs and work collaboratively with them to solve their problems
